Volunteer Opportunity: Docent Guide at the Sears Art Museum
The Sears Art Museum at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as Docent Guides during exhibitions—especially our 39th Annual Invitational Art Show & Sale (February–March), our largest fundraiser and one of Southern Utah’s premier cultural events.
What You’ll Do:
Welcome visitors and create a friendly, inclusive environment
Guide guests through exhibitions and share insights about the art
Assist staff with visitor needs and help safeguard artwork
Support art sales during the Invitational, directly benefiting the museum
Commitment:
4–6 hours per week during exhibitions (flexible scheduling available). Training provided—no prior experience required.
Qualifications:
Friendly and approachable
Interest in art, culture, or community engagement
Strong communication skills (training provided)
Why It Matters:
Over 3,000 visitors attend the Invitational each year. By volunteering, you’ll help ensure they have an inspiring experience while supporting the arts in Southern Utah.
