Important Museum Announcement!

Updated June 1, 2020

We are excited to announce that in compliance with recent decisions made by Dixie State University, we will be proceeding with our schedule. Our next show, From the Permanent Collection: Kardas, will be up from June 15th to October 2nd. The show will be presented via an online gallery here on our website, and it will also be available for viewing in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Grand Foyer on a digital display.

For more information about this and other future shows, click on this link to check our museum schedule. The instructions we are receiving on a statewide level are prone to daily changes, so we thank you for your patience.

The DSU Sears Art Museum will continue to follow all protocols suggested by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Although currently in-between shows, we are still making careful plans to ensure that our museum will be a safe environment for patrons and employees alike when we open our doors for the next show. Visitors are encouraged to attend in small groups and use social distancing, be mindful of fellow guests, and a mask is required.

Although some of these protocols may be inconvenient, we believe that it will help protect the health of our wonderful patrons and community. If you would like to learn more about the changes being made by Dixie State University, you can click this button to visit their official website.

If you would like to know more about COVID-19 and how to minimize it’s spread, the button below will take you to the website for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We encourage you to educate yourself and stay informed!

We will regularly update our website with information about our plans for the near future. If you have any questions or concerns, you can email us at culturalarts01@gmail.com. We wish you the best of health, and are grateful for your continued patience and support!

In memory of

Glen Blakley

"It is with deep sorrow and grief that I pass along news of the passing of Glen Blakley, Professor of Art.  Glen lost his battle with COVID-19 yesterday, December 31, 2020.  He was a beloved father and teacher; world-class artist, ceramicist, photographer and painter; mentor, teacher, and friend to countless DSU students, faculty, and staff.  Glen will be remembered for so much, including his generous kind heart and encouraging spirit.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends."
